Vanhin McMullan's Mission to Finland!

Tuesday December 26, 2023 Greetings you great folks of the world and Merry Christmas!  Christmas in Finland is amazing! (A bit too amazing but I'll talk about that later) This was a pretty wild week since last time because we had splits with the elders serving in a city called Hämeenlinna which was super cool.  We had a lot of fun and it was just overall a good time.  This week we gave out 2 book of Mormons, a couple of contact cards and got someone's number, so overall an amazing week, the Finns were definitely more talkative around Christmas time, it was funny how one day there were Finns out and about, and then for the next 3 days there was absolutely no one and the city was a ghost town.  So ya if you don't know, Finland celebrates Christmas for 3 days (24th, 25th, 26th) which is super awesome and keeps the spirit alive for more than just a day.  So the dark side of Christmas time, and just the dark side of my city is the fact that the Ward is so incredibly ...

Monday December 18, 2023 Hey y'all, not much happened this week to really talk about, just went and did the lords work haha, so other than preaching to the masses again (it'll be one of the pics below), on the way to zone conference we sat next to this old man who had his phone volume all the way up and we were just hearing meme sound effects being blasted next to us, it was so funny.  I also had my first McDonald's in Finland, idk how they do it but everything tastes healthy somehow and it shouldn't.  Street contacting still isn't successful but still super fun, I had to give a talk in finnish on Sunday and Imma have to give another one tomorrow in English so thats cool.  Um ya I honestly don't know what else to say, Finland is great, the people are great, Hyvinkää is the greatest place on earth, everything is the best.  I went to helsinki to get registered in the country and I saw Vanhin Olson which was epic, it was also just cool to see a bigger city, but ya ...

 Monday December 11, 2023 YOOOOOOO WHATS GOOD YOU LOVELY PEOPLE, a lot has happened this week as I'm sure none of you are surprised, so on Thursday last week we wake up and get our luggage and head on down to the travel office where we get all of our bus, train, and plane tickets, we then make our way over to the airport via train and bus, I cannot tell you how weird it felt not being in the MTC and being beyond the walls after being stuck in them for 2 months.  Anyways in the airport we had actually food again,  and by actual food I mean panda express and Cafe rio, since we got there at the time we did we had 4 hours to wait until our flight so ya I munched hard.  We met the Czechs there because they were coming with us on our first flight so we didn't have to say goodbye yet.  The plane had three columns which was sick,  but what wasn't sick was the fact that my ticket had me not sit next to anyone in my district or near the Czechs, instead I sat alo...

 Wednesday December 6, 2023 Ya so I totally messed up and thought that we were leaving for Finland today but its actually tomorrow so you guys still get one more email lol.  Nothing crazy happened yet... just a lot of packing and saying goodbye to people.  But tonight there's going to be a war in the dorm bathrooms because some of the guys got water balloons and so us and the Czech's are going to go to war tonight, it's gonna be epic, we're also planning on making a slip in slide in there which is going to both suck and be so fun, and dont worry we are going to clean it all up if we're still alive to do it ,btw I don't know if I've ever said it but the Czechs are our best friends here, they've been with us since week one and we're all flying out together,  OH and our first light is to Paris which is gonna be cool, but its gonna be a 16 hour flight, from there its only a 4 hour flight to Finland so yay  .  I'm gonna miss my district and the Czechs...

 Wednesday November 29, 2023 My last week in America for 2 years is here, the next time I write I'll be in Finland, I'm excited to go and preach the gospel to the Finnish people, a lots happened this week, but I just want give my testimony that God is real, and he loves every single one of us, there is no limit to the love he has for us, there is nothing we can do to ever make him stop loving us.  No matter what you've done in your past he still loves you,  he wants us to be happy and experience joy, turn to him in your times of hardship, as you do so you will feel his love and be led to correct paths, through Jesus Christ's Atonement we can be forgiven for all that we have done, you just have to have the faith and courage to do it, shake off your past sins and come to God, let yourself feel his love, stop hating yourself for past mistakes or things you could have done better and move forward with your eyes on our Lord, I think of the lyrics to amazing grace a l...

  Wednesday November 22, 2023 Time at the MTC has really flown by, I only have 2 weeks left here before I go to Finland, I'm going to miss the gang here but I'll see them sometimes in Finland so that's good, obviously I'm super excited for Finland though.  The gym life is great as always, the bathroom wars continue, the language is going great, everything is all around pretty great here.  Uhhhh, we got a visit from Elder Daine of the 70 yesterday, he spoke about how its good to challenge our beliefs because it's how we grow stronger spiritually, and to just hold onto your faith no matter what.  Elder Jones got chased down by a security car yesterday because he booked it for the fence to see the Christmas lights, so we had a funny interaction with security  , we also are getting an apostle tomorrow so that's going to be cool, we've been doing a lot of service recently and tomorrow is a gigantic all day service project but they haven't told us what it is y...

 Wednesday November 15, 2023 Hey everyone! Literally nothing happend this week that's worth mentioning other than a fire devotional from Sister Spanaus whose the 2nd councler in the young women's presidency, the main takeaways were to teach the doctrine of christ as it is and to not sugarcoat or skip topics that are hard to talk about.  It was probably one of my favorite devotionals yet.  One more notable thing is I'm learning the Elder scrolls theme on the piano (hence the title of the email).  It sounds more like morrowinds right now because I'm just learning but ya  .  Finnish is great, the district is good as always.  That's all from me today y'all  Jumala on hyvä Moi moi
