Chapter 51: Jyväskylä, Church Talk, Punnu

 Tuesday October 8, 2024 (But really, weeks ago)

Greetings, welcome back to yet another email that I haven't written yet. This week we had ZL splits in a city called Jyväskylä. I got to ride the train through Riihimäki which was one of the cities in my first area, so that was super cool. Anyways though, while in Jyväskylä I got to go teach a lesson with Vanhin Smith who was from my MTC district if you recall, we taught this guy named Yh, very interesting name, but such an awesome guy. We talked about The Book of Mormon and the identity of Jesus Christ. He lived every second and was sad I was only there for the day haha. Afterwards, wr all met up and went to a Jehovah's Witness Kingdom hall that they had invited the ZLs to. It was a super cool experience and always awesome to see the faith in others. The next morning we took a train to Lahti for DC and ate at a members house. I don't remember if I mentioned her in my emails from way back, but she's super awesome and she always makes the best food. A top tier member here in Finland for sure! After we got back from DC it was pretty late so we went to bed, but the next morning we woke up to give an elderly man in our ward a blessing and helping him out with taking out the trash in his house. I spent most of the week writing a talk for church on Sunday. I can send the English version at the end of this email in case yall want to read it. We had one friend come to church, it was super cool and one of our members invited him to eat with us after the meeting which was super awesome! We had good lessons this week with our friends, where we taught the 1st lesson to them. All of our friends loved it and were really interested to hear more. We also taught our friend Joyce about prophets, we had a good discussion about Joseph Smith and his role as a leader of our church. Overall a great week, enjoy reading my talk, and enjoy the next email right now.

Yoooo what is up everyone, I can finally tell you all about what's been going on. The plane ride went by so fast, there were 6 other missionaries on my flight and we talked the entire time and had a blast. So getting to see my district for the first time was super epic and we all bonded instantly and are insanely close now. I first met Vanhin Smith because he had been staying there for a day already because thats when the church scheduled his flight from Britain and I was the first to arrive, everyone else showed up a little bit later, i got to try some fire british candy. The MTC is super spiritual and ive learned so much Finnish already even though it doesnt quite make sense yet haha. My instructors are epic, they just got back from Finland in the past year so thats pretty cool, our district has the perfect amount of Goofy and spiritual so it's always a blast. Chapter 3: Elder Andersen Visit!

 Wed October 25, 2023 Hey everyone, honestly not too much happened this week, just the same old schedule, I got sick this week which is a total L but it's not too bad. Finnish is going good, I'm starting to understand some of the grammar cases now and how and when to use them, the word study is going too. I also ran into a pole face first one day because I was distracted talking to Vanhin Palmer and it was really funny  . They had some fire spicy chicken sandwiches yesterday, it was bomb. Something that was super epic was we were visited by Elder Anderson and he gave an amazing devotional. The main take aways I got were : 1. Never settle in your spiritual journey, there is always more you can do to grow 2. He talked a lot about how everyone feels the Spirit differently and how we all need to find out how we feel it It was super cool being able to see an apostle at the MTC, you get a way larger appreciation of them when your a missionary haha. Chapter 24: The Snow Strikes Back! The Legend of Kasun, Learning Russian?

 Tuesday March 19, 2024 2 weeks without it snowing right, Ice is melted and life is good, but then out of no where, 1.5 feet of snow comes within a few hours with insane Wind!  It's actually super cool and fun, but it was completely a surprise.   HEY EVERYONE, this week was great as always. Our friend Tommi actually ended up dropping us which was sad, but we got like 5 new people to teach in his place. The only problem is most of them are Ukrainan or Russian, so that brings me to my next point of discussion which is I'm really debating learning some Russian, because we only have one Finnish and Russian speaker in our ward and we don't want to take over his life.
