Chapter 50: Splits in Lappeenranta, Lahti Move

 Tuesday October 8, 2024 (But really, weeks ago!)

Hey everyone, another great week. We continued our AP splits, I spent most of the Time with Elder Helske, he's a good guy we had our studies to do and then some social media work. Eventually we all met back up and me and Elder Rinne became comps and we went tracting. Nothing crazy happened but it was a good time. Later me and Rinne made some Facebook reels together while Johnston and Helske taught Finnish. We all had a DA with the Hyväriset in our ward, they are super awesome and the food was also amazing. The next day we had Pres interviews which were great. We also helped the Hyväriset take apples to another member all the way in Kotka. We also had Splits in Lappeenranta this week! Its a super cool city and it was good getting to spend the day with the Elders there. I was comps with Riding for the whole day which was great. We street contacted and did our studies then at night we all got back together to play Sähly at the church which was super fun. After going to sleep for the first time in almost a year with Air conditioning, we woke up and went to an outside gym with freeweights. It was the greatest blessing of all time, and I got to get a good workout in. I spent the day onwards with Dieker, we went finding in a refugee camp, and we found one Arabian man named Hassan who didn't speak any English or Finnish, so we had to communicate through google translate. He was super cool and super interested to learn more about Christianity and our church. I hope the best for him, fingers crossed. Eventually we left Lappeenranta and finally got groceries for the week haha. We had 3 friends come to church this week which was awesome, and afterwards we were fed by one of the members in our ward. They made us Salmon and rice which was great. The last big thing to happen this week was we went to Lahti to help the sisters and the senior couple prepare another apartment for missionaries next transfer, so we spent a big chunk of the day there helping with that. A great week, with a lot of fun stuff going on. See y'all in the next email which will be sent in like 1 minute haha, (I need to get better at writing emails).

Yoooo what is up everyone, I can finally tell you all about what's been going on. The plane ride went by so fast, there were 6 other missionaries on my flight and we talked the entire time and had a blast. So getting to see my district for the first time was super epic and we all bonded instantly and are insanely close now. I first met Vanhin Smith because he had been staying there for a day already because thats when the church scheduled his flight from Britain and I was the first to arrive, everyone else showed up a little bit later, i got to try some fire british candy. The MTC is super spiritual and ive learned so much Finnish already even though it doesnt quite make sense yet haha. My instructors are epic, they just got back from Finland in the past year so thats pretty cool, our district has the perfect amount of Goofy and spiritual so it's always a blast. Chapter 3: Elder Andersen Visit!

 Wed October 25, 2023 Hey everyone, honestly not too much happened this week, just the same old schedule, I got sick this week which is a total L but it's not too bad. Finnish is going good, I'm starting to understand some of the grammar cases now and how and when to use them, the word study is going too. I also ran into a pole face first one day because I was distracted talking to Vanhin Palmer and it was really funny  . They had some fire spicy chicken sandwiches yesterday, it was bomb. Something that was super epic was we were visited by Elder Anderson and he gave an amazing devotional. The main take aways I got were : 1. Never settle in your spiritual journey, there is always more you can do to grow 2. He talked a lot about how everyone feels the Spirit differently and how we all need to find out how we feel it It was super cool being able to see an apostle at the MTC, you get a way larger appreciation of them when your a missionary haha. Chapter 24: The Snow Strikes Back! The Legend of Kasun, Learning Russian?

 Tuesday March 19, 2024 2 weeks without it snowing right, Ice is melted and life is good, but then out of no where, 1.5 feet of snow comes within a few hours with insane Wind!  It's actually super cool and fun, but it was completely a surprise.   HEY EVERYONE, this week was great as always. Our friend Tommi actually ended up dropping us which was sad, but we got like 5 new people to teach in his place. The only problem is most of them are Ukrainan or Russian, so that brings me to my next point of discussion which is I'm really debating learning some Russian, because we only have one Finnish and Russian speaker in our ward and we don't want to take over his life.
