Chapter 45: Muumi World, Transfer News, Berry Farm, The Barbell Heist!

Hey everyone, this was a legendary week for sure! I went to Muumi World!!! If you've been following my time in Finland for some time now, then you probably know about my obsession with Muumi, and luckily in Turku, they have a little amusement park type island that's everything Muumi, and it's only open during the summer, so we were already so lucky, but we also had a friend whose a member here in Turku and she works there and got us in for FREE! It was awesome, it was a really fun time and a great day all around. We played volleyball with a ton of people in the city for pros that night too. On Wednesday, we as a district went over to a members garden that grew tons of vegetables and berries and picked them, it was so fun! They also made us some amazing smoked salmon which was delicious. After that we met up with Our friend Jere who came to pancake night that night as well and I got to say goodbye and all of that. On Thursday we got Transfer news! I'm going to an eastern city in Finland called Kouvola, and I'm going with Elder Johnston! It's going to be hype over there, especially because there's a city called Kotka in our area that tons of people say is one of the most beautiful places in Finland, so I'll have to check that out. Elder Chandler is staying in Turku but he's switching apartments. So we started taking a lot of his stuff from our apartment now to his future one. We also decided that we were going to take all of the gym weights too, and that was a challenge to take them across the entire city, but we managed haha. I got to say goodbye to a lot of the friends at sports night, it's sad to say goodbye, but i'm really looking forward to this transfer. Yesterday we got transferred, so now I'm in Kouvola, its a smaller city which is always fun because it's a big grind, so I'm excited. Although i unfortunately had to say goodbye to my trainer Elder Torgersen as he just went home, so that was a big tragedy. I also had to say goodbye to Chandler and that was sad, I love that brother. But that's about it for this week, nothing much else to really talk about, just busy as always and trying to improve my Finnish haha, see you guys in the next email

Chapter 2: The Traveling Tie Vendor (the MTC)

Yoooo what is up everyone, I can finally tell you all about what's been going on. The plane ride went by so fast, there were 6 other missionaries on my flight and we talked the entire time and had a blast. So getting to see my district for the first time was super epic and we all bonded instantly and are insanely close now. I first met Vanhin Smith because he had been staying there for a day already because thats when the church scheduled his flight from Britain and I was the first to arrive, everyone else showed up a little bit later, i got to try some fire british candy. The MTC is super spiritual and ive learned so much Finnish already even though it doesnt quite make sense yet haha. My instructors are epic, they just got back from Finland in the past year so thats pretty cool, our district has the perfect amount of Goofy and spiritual so it's always a blast. Chapter 3: Elder Andersen Visit!

 Wed October 25, 2023 Hey everyone, honestly not too much happened this week, just the same old schedule, I got sick this week which is a total L but it's not too bad. Finnish is going good, I'm starting to understand some of the grammar cases now and how and when to use them, the word study is going too. I also ran into a pole face first one day because I was distracted talking to Vanhin Palmer and it was really funny  . They had some fire spicy chicken sandwiches yesterday, it was bomb. Something that was super epic was we were visited by Elder Anderson and he gave an amazing devotional. The main take aways I got were : 1. Never settle in your spiritual journey, there is always more you can do to grow 2. He talked a lot about how everyone feels the Spirit differently and how we all need to find out how we feel it It was super cool being able to see an apostle at the MTC, you get a way larger appreciation of them when your a missionary haha. Chapter 24: The Snow Strikes Back! The Legend of Kasun, Learning Russian?

 Tuesday March 19, 2024 2 weeks without it snowing right, Ice is melted and life is good, but then out of no where, 1.5 feet of snow comes within a few hours with insane Wind!  It's actually super cool and fun, but it was completely a surprise.   HEY EVERYONE, this week was great as always. Our friend Tommi actually ended up dropping us which was sad, but we got like 5 new people to teach in his place. The only problem is most of them are Ukrainan or Russian, so that brings me to my next point of discussion which is I'm really debating learning some Russian, because we only have one Finnish and Russian speaker in our ward and we don't want to take over his life.
