Chapter 40: Lukas Baptism, Happy Birthday to Me

So being the person I am, I wanted to set a goal that the first thing that I'd do when I was 19 would be to workout, that it would be the first decision I make in my mind. So I was sleeping on the 2nd when all of a sudden, at 3:37 am July 3rd I woke up, and I was not about to break my promise, so at 3:37 am, I jumped out of bed and instantly starting working out, it was hauska. After going back to sleep after the little workout I did, the rest of my birthday was really fun. Elder Chandler had decorated the apartment which was super sweet. After another workout at 7 am, we went to the Church and the sisters made pancakes for my birthday, they were awesome! Later in the day we went with Luka to a buffet that was super good, we talked about his baptism and what that was going to look like the next day. He bought a cologne for me as a gift, it smells awesome. We ate again later that day with a member who prepared a cake for my birthday. The member really likes to customize cakes so they made a cake with. Barbell on it which was awesome. After pancake night the APs came for splits and they got me a muumi phone ring for my birthday. Overall my birthday was great and definitely a day to be remembered. July 4th, happy birthday America haha, but even more special was Lukas baptism that day. It was an awesome day, he's been so prepared ever since we got him, he's been counting down the days until his baptism for a long time, I'm so glad he finally got to make this covenant with God. It was a beautiful baptism, so many members came to support him and make food for afterwards, and lots of the youth made it as well which was great for him. It was a truly amazing day. The following day we did some member work, and helped out a struggling member with some questions. The rest of the week went pretty normal, although we had one person who we met on the street come to church which was awesome! Overall a great week, especially with Lukas baptism. It was a really powerful spiritual experience to see him make this covenant with God. There's really not that much more I can say about it. Yay for Luka!

Yoooo what is up everyone, I can finally tell you all about what's been going on. The plane ride went by so fast, there were 6 other missionaries on my flight and we talked the entire time and had a blast. So getting to see my district for the first time was super epic and we all bonded instantly and are insanely close now. I first met Vanhin Smith because he had been staying there for a day already because thats when the church scheduled his flight from Britain and I was the first to arrive, everyone else showed up a little bit later, i got to try some fire british candy. The MTC is super spiritual and ive learned so much Finnish already even though it doesnt quite make sense yet haha. My instructors are epic, they just got back from Finland in the past year so thats pretty cool, our district has the perfect amount of Goofy and spiritual so it's always a blast. Chapter 3: Elder Andersen Visit!

 Wed October 25, 2023 Hey everyone, honestly not too much happened this week, just the same old schedule, I got sick this week which is a total L but it's not too bad. Finnish is going good, I'm starting to understand some of the grammar cases now and how and when to use them, the word study is going too. I also ran into a pole face first one day because I was distracted talking to Vanhin Palmer and it was really funny  . They had some fire spicy chicken sandwiches yesterday, it was bomb. Something that was super epic was we were visited by Elder Anderson and he gave an amazing devotional. The main take aways I got were : 1. Never settle in your spiritual journey, there is always more you can do to grow 2. He talked a lot about how everyone feels the Spirit differently and how we all need to find out how we feel it It was super cool being able to see an apostle at the MTC, you get a way larger appreciation of them when your a missionary haha. Chapter 24: The Snow Strikes Back! The Legend of Kasun, Learning Russian?

 Tuesday March 19, 2024 2 weeks without it snowing right, Ice is melted and life is good, but then out of no where, 1.5 feet of snow comes within a few hours with insane Wind!  It's actually super cool and fun, but it was completely a surprise.   HEY EVERYONE, this week was great as always. Our friend Tommi actually ended up dropping us which was sad, but we got like 5 new people to teach in his place. The only problem is most of them are Ukrainan or Russian, so that brings me to my next point of discussion which is I'm really debating learning some Russian, because we only have one Finnish and Russian speaker in our ward and we don't want to take over his life.
