Chapter 29: 1100 first contacts, Adetayo the GOAT, District Shenanigans

Hey everyone, it was a great week! We did a lot of finding (ended up with 1100 first contacts in a week) and had a lot of good lessons which resulted in one friend wanting to get baptized and we gave another the assignment to read 2 Nephi 31. The one who is basically on bap date is named Adetayo, he's super cool and we've literally only had one lesson with him (which was also the first time we met him) but at the end we invited him to read 2 Nephi 31, and 2 days later, he messaged us and it resulted in him saying that he wants to be baptized and he's willing to do whatever it takes. The other friend has a similar story, he's been coming to our sports nights for a while now, but it was our first real lesson with him and it went amazing, and in the end we gave him the same challenge to read 2 Nephi 31, so we'll see what happens from that. It's really fun in Turku. I was a little stressed about being a DL but now I actually really enjoy it! The district is so much fun and we're having a great time! We also had ZL splits here in Turku which went really well. My first DC as DL was great, we had a baller time and I made McTruffles as well. We had an awesome DA with a family, they wouldn't stop feeding us. We also had a really cool experience yesterday to attend a religious gathering of different faiths. It was awesome to get to speak with people and all share our experiences with God and why he's important in our lives. This one guy there named Jermi was particularly fun. He's a Lutheran but he also doesn't believe in a lot of doctrines they teach like sola scriptora, fide, etc. He was really smart and was so glad to have finally met members of our church since he's been looking for us. I wanna meet with him again sometime. Today was also great, we had a really fun P day with the district. We made some Finnish flapjacks that were fire, played a lot of just dance, lots of sports, and just had a good time. We built a giant snowman as well! Finnish is coming slowly but surely every day. Me and Aatos are living (and lifting) it up over here! Love y'all and have a great one!

Yoooo what is up everyone, I can finally tell you all about what's been going on. The plane ride went by so fast, there were 6 other missionaries on my flight and we talked the entire time and had a blast. So getting to see my district for the first time was super epic and we all bonded instantly and are insanely close now. I first met Vanhin Smith because he had been staying there for a day already because thats when the church scheduled his flight from Britain and I was the first to arrive, everyone else showed up a little bit later, i got to try some fire british candy. The MTC is super spiritual and ive learned so much Finnish already even though it doesnt quite make sense yet haha. My instructors are epic, they just got back from Finland in the past year so thats pretty cool, our district has the perfect amount of Goofy and spiritual so it's always a blast. Chapter 3: Elder Andersen Visit!

 Wed October 25, 2023 Hey everyone, honestly not too much happened this week, just the same old schedule, I got sick this week which is a total L but it's not too bad. Finnish is going good, I'm starting to understand some of the grammar cases now and how and when to use them, the word study is going too. I also ran into a pole face first one day because I was distracted talking to Vanhin Palmer and it was really funny  . They had some fire spicy chicken sandwiches yesterday, it was bomb. Something that was super epic was we were visited by Elder Anderson and he gave an amazing devotional. The main take aways I got were : 1. Never settle in your spiritual journey, there is always more you can do to grow 2. He talked a lot about how everyone feels the Spirit differently and how we all need to find out how we feel it It was super cool being able to see an apostle at the MTC, you get a way larger appreciation of them when your a missionary haha. Chapter 24: The Snow Strikes Back! The Legend of Kasun, Learning Russian?

 Tuesday March 19, 2024 2 weeks without it snowing right, Ice is melted and life is good, but then out of no where, 1.5 feet of snow comes within a few hours with insane Wind!  It's actually super cool and fun, but it was completely a surprise.   HEY EVERYONE, this week was great as always. Our friend Tommi actually ended up dropping us which was sad, but we got like 5 new people to teach in his place. The only problem is most of them are Ukrainan or Russian, so that brings me to my next point of discussion which is I'm really debating learning some Russian, because we only have one Finnish and Russian speaker in our ward and we don't want to take over his life.
