Chapter 27: Farewell Hyvinkää, Until We Meet Again, Hello Turku, TONI, Helmikko day, General conference!

Hey everyone, this week has been quite the experience with a lot of highs and sadness in the end.  For starters We got transfer calls this week.  We were on splits in Tampere when it happened, and so were the other Tampere elders, so In total there was 10 missionaries In Tampere at once and we had a good time.  When the call came me and Suman were first.  Elder Suman is Staying in Hyvinkää and training, While I'm going to a city called Turku with Aatos! Turku is the oldest city in Finland and the old capital too, Turku also has a Muumiland (Disney land but Muumi) so i'm hyped for that, there's also a MUUMI Shop there that has everything on a big sale since they're closing it soon, so me and Aatos are gonna go there pretty fast.  Me and Aatos are hyped to be comps in a day.  He immediately called me and we talked about how epic this transfer is going to be.  So we're really excited.  I'm also going to be the DL in Turku, i'll have 3 companionships I'm serving, the district itself looks really good, there's a lot of good missionaries here, and both Sister companionships in Turku are getting a trainee so that's gonna be fun.  Here in Hyvinkää our friend Toni just asked to be baptized so we're getting him ready for that.  There's going to be a lot of baptisms here next transfer.  Hyvinkää is truly a blessed land.  I'm really sad to leave this place, I love these people so much, this is the best ward In the world!  We had a party for our recent converts hitting their 1 year marks yesterday, they loved it and it went really well.  It was great to see them all there.  Afterwards I said my goodbyes to them all.  Hyvinkää is going to have a special place in my heart, its definitely where I'm coming after the mission.  Truly a choice land above all else.  It's crazy how fast time is flying,  it doesn't feel like I've been out that long and yet I'm already a 1/4 done with my mission, and at the same time, I can't remember life before the mission too well.  I wish that time would slow down a bit, because it's going too fast.  Through it all, I'm excited for Turku, its going to be fun with Aatos, we're going to be doing a lot of lifting .  General conference was amazing this year, it was so good to hear from Elder Holland again,  although his remark about him being alive for days or months was not very reassuring of him , we had a watch party for the Saturday morning session here,  the YSA showed up which was great,  its funny how we were watching the Saturday MORNING session live at 19 here .  Alright,  I love you guys, take care.

Chapter 2: The Traveling Tie Vendor (the MTC)

Yoooo what is up everyone, I can finally tell you all about what's been going on. The plane ride went by so fast, there were 6 other missionaries on my flight and we talked the entire time and had a blast. So getting to see my district for the first time was super epic and we all bonded instantly and are insanely close now. I first met Vanhin Smith because he had been staying there for a day already because thats when the church scheduled his flight from Britain and I was the first to arrive, everyone else showed up a little bit later, i got to try some fire british candy. The MTC is super spiritual and ive learned so much Finnish already even though it doesnt quite make sense yet haha. My instructors are epic, they just got back from Finland in the past year so thats pretty cool, our district has the perfect amount of Goofy and spiritual so it's always a blast. Chapter 3: Elder Andersen Visit!

 Wed October 25, 2023 Hey everyone, honestly not too much happened this week, just the same old schedule, I got sick this week which is a total L but it's not too bad. Finnish is going good, I'm starting to understand some of the grammar cases now and how and when to use them, the word study is going too. I also ran into a pole face first one day because I was distracted talking to Vanhin Palmer and it was really funny  . They had some fire spicy chicken sandwiches yesterday, it was bomb. Something that was super epic was we were visited by Elder Anderson and he gave an amazing devotional. The main take aways I got were : 1. Never settle in your spiritual journey, there is always more you can do to grow 2. He talked a lot about how everyone feels the Spirit differently and how we all need to find out how we feel it It was super cool being able to see an apostle at the MTC, you get a way larger appreciation of them when your a missionary haha. Chapter 24: The Snow Strikes Back! The Legend of Kasun, Learning Russian?

 Tuesday March 19, 2024 2 weeks without it snowing right, Ice is melted and life is good, but then out of no where, 1.5 feet of snow comes within a few hours with insane Wind!  It's actually super cool and fun, but it was completely a surprise.   HEY EVERYONE, this week was great as always. Our friend Tommi actually ended up dropping us which was sad, but we got like 5 new people to teach in his place. The only problem is most of them are Ukrainan or Russian, so that brings me to my next point of discussion which is I'm really debating learning some Russian, because we only have one Finnish and Russian speaker in our ward and we don't want to take over his life.
