Chapter 5: The Bathroom Battles, District Tomfoolery, Elder Uchtdorf!

Hyvää Päivää!  


Not much to talk about this week other than Elder Uchtdorf coming for our devotional yesterday, but I'll get to that later.  Finnish is going great, I'm getting better every day it feels like.  I can understand a lot now and we watched a conference talk in Finnish and I got a lot of what was said.  
So after the events of the Pudding Incident of October 27, me and the boys have been pranking each other a lot. Most of it happens in the bathroom, where if someone from our district is in a stall or shower, we'll wet paper towels and chuck it over to either hit them or just scare them.  It's an every day occurrence and no one is safe.  I got everyone a few days back when we all got back from the gym.  They filled up the showers, I turned into an artillery Cannon barraging those ginger haters.  Also we made some really funny like cards I guess of each other, I'll show them in the pictures.  
So like I said earlier, Elder Uchtdorf came for our devotional yesterday! He talked a lot about having faith and hope. In this life, we won't ever have the answers to everything we may want, but we just have to have faith and hope in the choices we make and live off of the things we do know and truly believe. His wife also had an amazing talk about how us missionaries are on a 24 hour prayer cycle.  Basically the way she put it is our families pray for us, the apostles and prophets pray for us, in the temples people pray for us, and just people from all over the world pray for us and that was really cool to think about.  

 God is real and God is good!

Yoooo what is up everyone, I can finally tell you all about what's been going on. The plane ride went by so fast, there were 6 other missionaries on my flight and we talked the entire time and had a blast. So getting to see my district for the first time was super epic and we all bonded instantly and are insanely close now. I first met Vanhin Smith because he had been staying there for a day already because thats when the church scheduled his flight from Britain and I was the first to arrive, everyone else showed up a little bit later, i got to try some fire british candy. The MTC is super spiritual and ive learned so much Finnish already even though it doesnt quite make sense yet haha. My instructors are epic, they just got back from Finland in the past year so thats pretty cool, our district has the perfect amount of Goofy and spiritual so it's always a blast. Chapter 3: Elder Andersen Visit!

 Wed October 25, 2023 Hey everyone, honestly not too much happened this week, just the same old schedule, I got sick this week which is a total L but it's not too bad. Finnish is going good, I'm starting to understand some of the grammar cases now and how and when to use them, the word study is going too. I also ran into a pole face first one day because I was distracted talking to Vanhin Palmer and it was really funny  . They had some fire spicy chicken sandwiches yesterday, it was bomb. Something that was super epic was we were visited by Elder Anderson and he gave an amazing devotional. The main take aways I got were : 1. Never settle in your spiritual journey, there is always more you can do to grow 2. He talked a lot about how everyone feels the Spirit differently and how we all need to find out how we feel it It was super cool being able to see an apostle at the MTC, you get a way larger appreciation of them when your a missionary haha. Chapter 24: The Snow Strikes Back! The Legend of Kasun, Learning Russian?

 Tuesday March 19, 2024 2 weeks without it snowing right, Ice is melted and life is good, but then out of no where, 1.5 feet of snow comes within a few hours with insane Wind!  It's actually super cool and fun, but it was completely a surprise.   HEY EVERYONE, this week was great as always. Our friend Tommi actually ended up dropping us which was sad, but we got like 5 new people to teach in his place. The only problem is most of them are Ukrainan or Russian, so that brings me to my next point of discussion which is I'm really debating learning some Russian, because we only have one Finnish and Russian speaker in our ward and we don't want to take over his life.
