Vanhin McMullan's Mission to Finland!

 Tuesday February 27, 2024 Hey everyone, not much happened this week to talk about, I put zone conference in my last email even though it was technically supposed to be in this email, but other than that not much happened, we had tons of DA's this week for no reason, we had one with the Mustonens (The Goats)  and the Angelo-Santos (the funnest family) and the Helskes ( everyone knows the Helskes everywhere since their son is serving here), and Brother Varila (teaches us Finnish, Incredibly helpful).  The Angelo-Santos was so fun since we always have the YSA over with us and 3 other companionships from Helsinki with us.  So we had tons of fun including an all out nerf war during the midst of a musical concert from some of the other missionaries and family members.  Elder Kevin Mitchell is a sniper and took me out with a head shot, I got L'd.  I also learned I can go crazy on this one type of instrument, I think it's like a box drum or something, idk but...

 Tuesday February 27, 2024 Alright, sorry this is a very late email, we've been crazy busy with zone conference and zone p day so now I can finally write an email. This week was crazy in a very good way. Well except one of our friends dropped us :(, and Aatos took his dumbbells' back. Other than that though, I got some fire new sweatpants from H&M for pretty cheap. So Elder Suman is insane and guessed the Code on 3 apartment complexes this week (God did it), we had a conversation with an elderly couple but it didn't go anywhere. Finnish is getting better, I was able to have a few conversations with people on the street entirely in Finnish so that's cool. So miracle time! The APs randomly moved our splits forward to last Friday so we had to go to Espoo for that (I don't know if I've ever explained it here, but in Finland Splits and exchanges work differently than most missions, here we have both companionships combine and split off in the same city because we...

  Tuesday February 13, 2024 This has been such a great week, so like I said last week transfers happened, I said bye to Torgersen and wished him the best in Oulu because it's literally -40 there right now. So my new comp is Elder Suman, and he is the absolute greatest missionary ever. Shoutout to my brother Jackson because he and Elder Suman are literally the same person so it's fun. Elder Suman is crazy hard working and we're having so much success. We've been doing tons of finding and have found lots of people. This week we have so so many lessons and it's super awesome, I love how much work we're doing, it's super fun to go contacting people basically all day long and throwing in a lesson sometimes. So since Suman has only been out 2 months longer than us, we've been going crazy with Finnish and relying on the gift of tongues a lot. My Finnish is improving a ton though, understanding is so much easier now, it's improving a lot with Elder Suman, so...

 Tuesday February 6, 2024 Alright everyone,  this week was great, we got to help prepare a family in Hämeenlinna for baptism, Elder Torgersen had to give the interview since he's the district leader.  So that was super cool.  Transfers are tomorrow, we got our information on Saturday.  I'm going to stay in Hyvinkää which is epic and makes me the current King, Elder Torgersen is going to Oulu which is way up north.  My new companion is Elder Suman, I don't know much about him but I've heard he's super cool and hard working.  Tomorrow is going to be a long day but that's chill.  Not to much happened this week missionary work wise, none of our friends could meet up,  and we were only able to meet up with one of our recent converts yesterday, she's the best though, she's getting ready for both a patriarchal blessing and going through the temple, we're so happy for her.  We also went to the Mateers house this Sunday for a DA but ended up...

 Tuesday January 30, 2024 Alright so it may sound like a lot happened this week and to an extent a lot did happen but also not .  So we had District P Day this week which was epic, we got to play Secret Hitler, go to a Chinese buffet, and go bowling, so that day was great, this district is the GOAT!  Later that day we hung out with our friend in the Ward Tri and he took us to a Vietnamese restaurant that was so good,  however these two events led to some unforeseen consequences that we will see later...  The day after was apartment inspections which went well because we be clean boys here  !  I wrote in my journal that it was a great bicep day that day so let's go.   We had Interviews with Pres the following day which went well, my mission president is literally the best, if you say otherwise you are objectively wrong.  The only transfer doctrine we got from him is one of us is staying, I'm really hoping it's me because Hyvinkä...

 Tuesday January 23, 2024 Ok everyone this week has been insanely long and I'm very tired rn so let's do this!  Return and Report was EPIC, seeing the gang again was so fun and it was a blast.  The Helsinki Temple is officially the best temple of all time!  That night was so chaotic with all of us (the boys) in one room sleeping.  The next morning was pretty epic but eventually we all had to say goodbye and go back to our areas, for me it is obviously the great HYVINKÄÄ!!!!!! Although ngl this week I think we spent like 3 full days here.  So after Return and report we had Splits in Hämeenlinna 2 days later which was amazing.  Elder Nielson and Browne are the GOATS,  we had so much success!  We gave out 5 book of mormons and we found a family from Sri Lanka that was super interested.  So we pull up to their door, knock and thus like maybe 10 year old girl opens the door with her mother behind her and we start talking and this 10 year old ...

 Tuesday January 16, 2024 Hey everyone, not too much went on this week other than we had splits with the APs which was super fun and cool.  They're super chill and we had a good time, we were able to teach a man of the Hindu faith which was really fun and he's a great guy. We also went to a DA with this super cool Swedish guy and his family which was epic. After splits we went back and continued our usual Hyvinkää grind.  One day we went bowling with a recent convert named Markkus who is super cool and we always love hanging out with him.  We also had a game night with our bro Jan and he brought pizza that we munched on.  It was great.  2 days ago was Aatos' farewell talk and it was good I bet, I mean I still can't understand Finnish  .  We also that same day went to a ward members house because their daughter is leaving for her mission next week so there was a farewell party and that was super fun.  We also now have 4 kids who are getting re...
